Thang co ngua Bac Ha is an unique specialty that visitors should not miss when visiting Lao Cai.

Talking about the most attractive dishes in Ha Giang, we have to talking about “thang co”. This is a popular dish in the northern mountain provinces but in Lao Cai it has their own unique taste because it is made of horse’s viscera. The adding spices include cardamom, dia lien, hat doi, lemongrass, cinnamon twig,… mixed with meat before they are cocked.

Thang co attracts people with its own taste and charming appearance. It makes the space warmer in the cool weather.

Thang co will be more attractive if it is enjoyed with Shan Lung wine or Ban Pho corn wine which is made from “hong mi” trees in the northern mountain of Vietnam.
