The pagoda was built on 19th September 1950 by the Buddhist Association of Vietnam and the contribution of 21 Southern provinces.

Xa Loi Pagoda is a Buddhist school also. It has 7-floors bell tower with 32m of height, the bell tower was built in 1960 and completed in 1961.

The main palace was solemnly decorated. The Thich Ca Mau Ni statue is an artwork which was made of artificial stone with 6,5m of height.

This pagoda was built to worship Xa Loi Buddha so people called it as Xa Loi Pagoda.

Xa Loi Pagoda welcomes a lot of Buddhists coming to pray and study about Buddhism everyday. Besides, many visitors come here to visit also.
